International trade and logistics involves the buying and selling of goods internationally. This course focuses on the complexities of trade and shipping – the process that enables goods to travel from ‘A to B’ This qualification is designed to build on your current knowledge and studies of the key concepts of international trade and the shipping process (i.e. importing and exporting, shipping documentation, methods of payment, the roles of the different parties involved and shipping and international law), and to help you develop the learning skills required for higher levels of study. It will give you an opportunity, whatever your plans, to expand your understanding of shipping and the shipping process as a whole. Features of the qualification include: • Lectures and workshop sessions, to help you understand the qualification subjects; • Telephone/e-mail support, so you keep in touch with your tutor; • Assignments, which you will have to complete after each session, to prove that you have understood each subject; • An examination*, to achieve the qualification. * Examinations are optional, but are required if you wish to achieve the full Level 3 Diploma in COAST.
