Who is this course for? People who speak another language and are just beginning to learn English as an adult and who are looking for a job. It is for people whose skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening in English are at a basic level. What will I learn on this course? You will improve your skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening in English. You will be able to discuss your plans for your future life, including employment. You will learn about life in the UK, and take Trinity Exam board Skills For Life qualifications in English, Edexcel Exam board qualifications in Functional Maths and an OCR Exam board Award in Living & Living Skills How will I learn? You will do lots of activities in pairs and small groups, as well as with the whole class. You will get regular one-to-one help in a workshop session / tutorial. You will have an opportunity to use computers to help you practise your English and to apply for jobs. What qualifications will I gain? Trinity Skills for Life qualification: full mode or Speaking & Listening certificate; OCR Award in Life and Living Skills (Entry 1); Edexel functional maths qualification What could this course lead to? This course could lead to a higher level course in ESOL with us or another provider, other education or training and enable you to find a job. Can I join anytime? You can join anytime if there is a space in the class.
