Advanced Apprenticeship in Vehicle Motor Repair

This Advanced Apprenticeship is employed status only (minimum 30 hours per week). YMCA Training provides several different pathways for Motor Vehicle Apprenticeships, these include Vehicle Fitting, Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Heavy Vehicle) and Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicle). During your Apprenticeship you will develop practical skills in all areas of motor vehicle from repair work, replacing tyres and brakes to engine removal and replacement, assess vehicle problems and identify solutions, understand how vehicle parts work through practical and computer-based programmes, understand health and safety issues in the workplace and deal with customers. This Apprenticeship programme is ideal for those who are starting a career a motor vehicle environment, or those who want to build on experience they already have. As an apprentice, you work closely with professionals who give you the support you need to be able to develop in your job and make progress. Job roles within Motor Vehicle include Fast Fit technician, Motor Vehicle Fitter, Supervisor, Vehicle Service Technician or Vehicle Diagnostic Technician.

Name: Advanced Apprenticeship in Vehicle Motor Repair Qualification title: Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Your qualifications will be delivered within the workplace and in some locations you may be required to attend sessions within our centres. You will need to do on and off the job training which will be discussed with you and your employer when you begin your Apprenticeship. Intermediate apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle in various pathways. Advanced Apprentices can go on to complete a variety of industry recognised qualifications including Level 4 Higher Apprenticeships depending on their chosen pathway and career path.
