Apprenticeship in Working with Children & Young People Level 2

UPDATED 20160407 12:14:23

Level 2 will suit you if you work, or are about to work, in a supporting role as a nursery assistant, Crèche worker or special educational needs assistant. You want to work with children, but you'll generally work under supervision. Depending where you live, you choose from three qualifications at Level 2: •Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce (England) •Certificate in Children's Care, Learning and Development (NI) •Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development (Wales and Northern Ireland). The certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce is a generic qualification that will be relevant across the Children and Young People's Workforce in England. It is mapped to the CWDC Induction Standards and the Children's Care Learning and Development National Occupational Standards. To achieve the certificate you must gain a minimum of 35 credits; 31 credits will come from the mandatory group of units and 4 credits from the optional, group B units. This is an apprenticeship qualification designed for those who work or wish to work in a wide range of children and young people settings, which includes functional skills, ER&R and first aid. The cost of the course is £360 to those over 19, but the course may be offered free of charge to those individuals who meet certain entry requirements.
