These qualifications are designed for first line managers and supervisors working in the facilities management environment. They support a range of operations including building maintenance, catering, reception and security. The key aspects of any facilities management role are monitoring facilities, developing relationships with colleagues and other parties ensuring that health and safety are maintained. A Facilities Management NVQ offers a range of units covering these services such as building maintenance, catering, energy management, resource management, environmental protection, procurement, security, reception and customer care. The Level 3 NVQ in Facilities Management is aimed at those: - undertaking a Facilities Management Apprenticeship - performing first line management roles in facilities management and wish to develop and enhance their skills and knowledge - recently appointed to a Facilities Management role - working in supervisory role that wish to progress to a more senior position. This qualification allows learners to demonstrate competence against National Occupational Standards which are based on the needs of the facilities management sector as defined by Asset Skills, the Sector Skills Council. As such it contributes to the development of skilled labour in the sector.
