This qualification is for people who wish to work in the Children and Young People’s Workforce (birth to 19 years). The course covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children’s workforce settings including early years, education and social care. The qualification is made up of core mandatory units, mandatory pathway units and optional units which are based on knowledge and skills. Some optional units are from the level 4. The diploma has three pathways: Early Years and Childcare pathway, Social Care pathway and Learning Development and Support Services pathway. Qualifications in Communication and Application of Number will enhance your overall outcomes and are subject to relaxations/proxies depending upon prior attainment evidence. To achieve the diploma you must achieve a minimum of 65 credits. Paediatric First Aid is a 12 hour course delivered at ATO. It is valid for 3 years and is an essential part of the apprenticeship framework. ERR/Induction Standards is delivered initially by your induction in the workplace and is mapped into a workbook by your assessor and employer when certain tasks have completed. This also forms part of the apprenticeship framework. Minimum length of training is 18 months.
