This qualification provides the skills required above and beyond the driving licence for Drivers of Hackney Carriage, Private Hire Vehicles, Community Transport and Chauffeurs. There are 7 mandatory units which include Health & Safety, driving safely and efficiently, customer service, dealing with difficult passengers and those who require assistance. 2 more units are required from a choice of 9 to 12 (depending upon type of vehicle). These include dealing with children and young persons, defensive driving, routine cleaning, transporting parcels, planning routes, process telephone bookings and even manage and administer a small business. This qualification will provide a basis to help your business run smoothly and efficiently. If undertaken as an NVQ only (such as through Train to Gain) then the approximate duration is 20 weeks.
