Studying for the AAT Accounting qualification will provide learners with the skills necessary to work in many different types of companies and organisations. This nationally recognised qualification will help to improve practical skills and develop the knowledge necessary to complete key tasks enabling knowledge to be put into practice in the workplace. The Apprenticeship is designed for those people who are: - involved in Accountancy as their main work activity. - seeking a career in Accountancy and looking to achieve professional qualifications. - looking for a fast track to chartered accountancy. - hoping to gain a qualification that formally recognises their abilities. - wanting to avoid university debt. Studying for the AAT Accounting Qualification will provide the learner with the skills necessary to work in many different kinds of companies and organisations. The qualification is focused on the practical skills, and knowledge the learner will require to successfully undertake their duties within the workplace, enabling the individual to put knowledge into practice. Level 3 introduces more complicated accounting tasks, including the preparation of final accounts for sole traders and partnerships. The learner will also learn how to maintain cost accounting records and be able to prepare reports and returns.

There is an assessment to be undertaken for each unit, with a synoptic assessment at each level. AAT assessments: - are practical computer based assessments (CBA). - can be taken whenever the learner is ready, as long as the tutor agrees. There’s no set date for the tests (unit assessments only). - are mostly marked automatically externally by the AAT, so provisional results can be seen straight away.
