This is a roll on - roll off course, usually provided as part of an apprenticeship. In some circumstances it may be delivered as part of the Train to Gain programme or as a stand alone qualification. Light vehicle technicians will service and repair vehicles such as cars, and vans. Technicians will be trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features. The duties of a light vehicle technician may include, Servicing vehicles, Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components, Advising the customers or the service department about required repairs, Producing time estimates and Maintaining repair and service records.
