Whether you want to develop your IT skills so you can use them more effectively in your everyday life, or whether you have an interest in working within the IT industry, this course is a good starting point. It introduces IT systems and software through a range of practical activities and teaches you how to select and use appropriate tools to achieve a range of different outcomes. It enables you to develop skills which will help you to work more productively, whether in your personal, education or work life. You will create products, e.g. slideshows, booklets and posters, which communicate information to varied audiences, combining words and images to make them effective. You will utilise mixed media, experimenting with new technology to find, use, create and share information. Personal and information safety will also be addressed. As well as improving you IT skills, the course develops a range of transferable skills, including how to plan and generate ideas, problem solve, manage your time and evaluate your work. These are essential skills when progressing to any Level 2 course. The units that you will cover on this IT Users course are: Improving Productivity Using IT IT User Fundamentals Design Software Presentation Software Word Processing Software You will also complete modules in: English and Maths ICT Level 1 Award in Work Skills Level 1 Certificate in Sustainability Skills
