Intermediate Hairdressing Apprenticeship

A hairdressing apprenticeship is one of the best ways of training to become a hairdresser. Apart from it being the only route which enables you to EARN WHILE YOU LEARN, because all apprentices are employed from day one, you will develop real, practical and commercial skills highly valued by employers. In the majority of cases you will attend a Michael John Academy one day per week and work within the Industry for the remainder of your working week. If you have previous experience we can support you to progress more rapidly, however you should expect your apprenticeship to last at least twelve months with most course durations lasting between 14 to 18 months. You will also be given a real insight into the Hairdressing Industry to include what employers will expect from you and how important it is to sustain your employment so you can progress even further in this exciting and innovative career choice.

Name: Intermediate Hairdressing Apprenticeship Qualification title: Diploma in Hairdressing (QCF) Qualification type: NVQ and relevant components Assessment Throughout your apprenticeship you will be assessed on your practical skills and your background knowledge and understanding of each subject. Assessment will take place in the academy and within your salon workplace. During the course you will build up a portfolio of evidence and achievement. Michael John Academy specialise in Hair and Beauty training, so throughout your apprenticeship there will be opportunities for you to participate in a range of short specialist courses, Industry excursions and competitive events. Entry requirements

Pen, paper and a salon tunic which can be purchased at the Academy. You will need a salon tunic, however this is supplied by some employers.
