The course is designed to prepare you for a career in the catering industry. You will not need to be employed in the industry at the start of the course but it will be helpful. This is a beginners course that will teach the basics of preparing food and cooking in the catering industry in a variety of ways including: *Frying *Braising *Boiling *Grilling *Roasting *Cold Presentation *Baking. It will also give you a good guide to foods you can freeze and those you cannot. How to cook from frozen, defrosting and safe cooking of foods. Foods would include: *Meat and Poultry *Fish *Sauces *Vegetable and Salad dishes *Basic Pastry.
