All electronics apprentices spend their first 1.5 years of training within the Skills Academy electronic workshop producing a number of electronic projects. These projects help to develop skills and knowledge in basic electronic theory, components, basic circuit design, circuit construction and reporting. Typical work within the first year Phase includes: Timer circuits Power supplies Logic circuits Typical work within the Second Phase includes: Production of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s) Test Instrumentation Surface Mount Technology (SMT) During In the first 2 years of the apprenticeship the apprentices must complete PEO units, demonstrating planning, designing and construction skills developed. Throughout the apprenticeship there will be a variety of lectures to further electronic theory; these may be delivered by the instructors or the apprentices themselves. Lectures cover: Component recognition Component characteristics Circuit calculations Semi-conductor theory Fault finding techniques Once apprentices have achieved the PEO units, they will complete 1.5 years on site, to complete the NVQ level 3. All practical training is completed in the AWE Apprentice Academy and via work placements within our business. Qualifications gained are NVQ3 engineering maintenance National certificate (as appropriate) Functional skills at level 2
Name: Electronic Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3 (EAL) Qualification title: NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Assessment is by a variety of methods but primarily as on the job assessment of competence. During the academy phase of training assessment of practical skills via work produced in our workshops; on-site competence assessment of complex 'real' work is undertaken. Examinations and assignments are used for theory qualifications. Awarding EMTA Awards Ltd Created 20100518 08:32:48 Updated 20160916 06:47:07
