The qualification is made up of 3 units and aims to enable learners to communicate with deaf people on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language use. This course is designed to equip learners to: - finger spell correctly and appropriately for names of people, items and places by using the correct form of letters on the hand(s), with natural movement and without mouthing each letter or changing hands - show facial expressions and feelings of emotion, use a wide range of vocabulary, hand shapes to show size and shape whilst using the correct movements. - use appropriate eye contact, sign in the right context and use appropriate lip patterns.
