Fell & Process Medium Sized Trees About the course This is a three day training course for delegates who have successfully completed and passed the CS30 and CS31 Chainsaw Maintenance, Crosscutting and Felling of Small Trees NPTC assessments. It will cover the necessary theory and practical experience to enable the felling of medium sized trees between 380 - 760mm in diameter. Course Content ? Safe working procedures and risk assessments ? Protective clothing ? Starting & pre-use checks ? Practical demonstrations & safe use ? Preparation, felling & de-limbing ? Take down of hung up tree using a winch ? Legislative issues Learning Outcomes Candidates will be able to: 1) Identify the Risk Assessment and Emergency procedures on a work site 2) Select equipment required for safe and effective felling 3) Fell medium sized trees safely and accurately using an appropriate method 4) Sned and / or de-limb medium sized trees 5) Crosscut stems over guide bar length in diameter to a given specification 6) Select winching equipment suitable for takedown of a medium sized tree 7) Take down a hung-up medium sized tree with a winch Course duration 2 day programme plus assessment
