This course deals with vibrant mix of graphic design, photography, motion graphics, illustration and multimedia that aims to build and strengthen your cognitive, analytical and commercial design skills. It also includes graphic activities: hand generated, digital media, commercial, print and screen based work that puts learning and experimentation as the central focus. Participants can progress onto industry with a portfolio of creative work and a range of industry contacts; alternatively, they could choose to 'top up' BA Honours by joining the third year of a relevant degree programme.

Name: Graphics and Digital Media Foundation Degree (MMU) Qualification title: Foundation Degree in Graphics and Digital Media Qualification type: Assessment Foundation Degrees place particular emphasis on vocational learning, and there a is clear academic recognition for learning that takes place outside the traditional teaching environment, such as a design studio. The aim is to link work experience in a graphics and digital media area with learning in order to ensure that work practice and theory inform and enhance each other. Throughout the course, we conduct various forms of assessment, including one-on-one, critiques, group discussion and written assessment. A wide range of approaches to teaching, learning and assessment will be used, based around an essential core of studio and workshop tuition to ensure student confidence and skills necessary for fluent creative work. Students will also be made aware of industry requirements, constraints, benefits and potential at an early stage to inspire learning and achievement.
