Studying an Intermediate Apprenticeship will increase your practical skills, enable you to acquire more knowledge about basic preparation and cookery methods and the catering industry as a whole. This practical programme provides an excellent foundation for a career in the catering industry. Working in Chapters Restaurant, the College’s training restaurant, you will gain valuable hands-on experience.

Name: Apprenticeship in Catering and Hospitality Qualification title: Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Front of House Reception) (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment To gain the full qualification you must complete all fourteen units. You will be assessed by observation, questioning and products of work. The assessment takes place over a period of time and is based on the individual’s competence. You will build up a portfolio of work to support your learning. You will be formally assessed during your work in the college kitchen and also via observations in your workplace. You will have access to a fully equipped training kitchen. Students will have to provide their own uniform and knives costing approx. £140.
