Drama and Theatre GCE A2 Level

You’ll be creative and interested in the theatre from either a performance or technical perspective. You’ll enjoy going to the theatre to watch a range of professional productions. Students often go on to build a career within the performing arts. For others the course serves as an exciting way to build confidence and develop their ability to work with other people in a creative context. You’ll gain experience in developing roles and working as a performer and/or designer. You will experience a variety of forms and styles of drama from major playwrights to experimental forms of modern theatre. You’ll learn to understand playwrights’ intentions and explore how theatre texts are brought to life. You will explore characters and themes, staging, lighting, sound and costume. You will be given the opportunity to see live theatre.
