Course areas include: Advertising, packaging, typography and illustration. The course offers stimulating teaching, specialist software, and a working atmosphere, which is energetic and productive. Graphics complements a very wide range of other courses including Media, Photography, Art, Product Design, Textiles, English, IT and Sociology. Year 1 • Unit 1: Portfolio unit' is designed around a set of mini projects to improve your research skills and put in place a firm understanding of Graphic Design and Illustrative techniques. • Unit 2: Coursework Unit' is set by the exam board AQA. As in GCSE, you will have the chance to work from a set of starting points covering a wide range of topics. Year 2 • Unit 3: Personal Investigation' is a self-initiated project in which you will write your own brief including areas of research and skills development. This unit includes 1000 to 3000 words of written supporting content (essay, evaluation or blog). • Unit 4: Final Project' is another AQA set project based on varied starting points, culminating in a final 15 hour controlled test'.
