Performing Arts BTEC Level 2 Diploma

This is a one year full-time programme introducing aspects of performing arts, including acting, dancing and different styles of performance. The course, if successfully completed at Merit grade, can lead onto BTEC Level 3 Extended Diplomas in Performing Arts and other advanced courses. This is a vocationally-based and practical course providing an introduction to all aspects of performance from acting to administration to technical theatre. Students will be involved in productions with students from all performing arts courses Units include; Acting; Dance; Administration and Business; Physical theatre; Technical theatre. English & Maths We are committed to helping students improve their skills in English and maths. Students on a full-time course at College who missed out on GCSE qualifications at grades A-C in these subjects at school will attend additional classes and receive support to enhance their grades. Depending on individual ability, students will work towards GCSE, City & Guilds or Functional Skills awards to ensure that they have the qualifications needed to progress to university or employment. To take catch-up classes to ensure you have the qualifications you need to progress onto university or into the workplace. Career Opportunities / Progression BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts or A Levels (requires GCSE Maths and English at C or above).

Entry requirements

Whilst considering budgets for additional course costs students should bear in mind they will usually have the opportunity to attend between two and four day/evening trips each year for which the cost will vary.
