Engineering BTEC Level 2 Diploma

This course is aimed at people who are planning a career in the engineering industry. Successful completion of this course is one of the entry requirements for the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering. The syllabus comprises a series of units building knowledge in engineering: 1. Mathematics for engineering technicians 2. Applied electrical and mechanical science for technicians 3. Using and interpreting engineering information 4. Machining techniques 5. Working practices 6. Electronic devices and communication applications 7. Selecting engineering materials 8. Computer Aided Design 9. Electronic circuit construction and testing The course also includes the following mandatory components: 1. Functional Skills - Mathematics 2. Functional Skills - English 3. Functional Skills - Information & Communication Technology (ICT) English & Maths We are committed to helping students improve their skills in English and Maths. Students on a full-time course at College who missed out on GCSE qualifications at Grades A-C in these subjects at school will attend additional classes and receive support to enhance their grades. Depending on individual ability, students will work towards GCSE, City & Guilds or Functional Skills Awards to ensure that they have the qualifications needed to progress to University or employment.
