This course is aimed at school leavers and people not already working in the construction sector and who are considering making a career within this area. The programme includes both classroom and workshop content. Successful completion of this programme may lead to progression onto the Foundation Construction Award in either Wood or Trowel Occupations. Course Content The course is made up of the following units and provides a good foundation for anyone working in the Construction Industry: Starting work in Construction; Working in Construction; Developing skills and working safely in Construction; Personal effectiveness; Financial management; Developing Joinery Skills; Developing Trowel Skills; Exploring the Built Environment. The course also includes the following mandatory components: Key Skills Application of Number and Key Skills Communication.
